As a teenager, many moons ago, i would often see and hear hedgehogs in our front garden of an evening. Sadly i havent seen or heard a live one for years, in fact i havent even seen any laying in the roads so the decline in numbers must be really bad. I live on the edge of an estate and my house borders large woods, i hear Muntjac of an evening and have herds of deer outside at 1am onwards feeding on the grass verges but alas no more hedgehogs.
