    What lovely people you all are for worrying about me but there's really no need. Lyn, thank you for being such a diamond.

    The laptop had been overheating with occasional distortion of images on the monitor. This was followed by cutting out because Windows was shutting down to prevent damage to hardware. The Dr installed a new hard drive (old one corrupted) and gave the internal circuitry a good clean. Now the fan is hardly kicking in at all and everything is fine and dandy image
