Pruning honeysuckle

I have 2 very healthy honeysuckles in my garden, both of which I planted. One is 2 years old and i have never pruned it back, but it has never flowered. The other was planted at the start of the season and has taken off really well and is flowering now.

i know you are supposed to trim them back, but I dont know how to go about doing this and when to do it. Any advice? thanks
