Raised Beds

Hi,
I have recently built 4 raised beds which have been raised to a good depth and am now in a dilemma over filling them! I have good access to well-rotten horse manure and wondered whether I could use this exclusively to grow some vegetables? I know root veg won't appreciate this but could get away with this for squashes etc..? I'm amazed at the cost of vegetable top soil and was hoping to save some money here!

Thanks Edd. I have looked through the posts and concluded that a happy mix would be 50/50 top soil/manure. It's going to cost the earth though! I'll need around 8 tonnes of top soil and to make matters more expensive my property is not suitable for very large vehicles that can deliver in bulk! Ah well, better get it right - it will no doubt be cheaper than having disappointing crops and problem-solving for the next 5 years
