greenhouse in winter

image

I took these rose cuttings in the autumn, covered them with poly-bags and put in the greenhouse.  Some, above have started to take root, but I don't know whether to rocover them, put on a heat mat or just leave with greenhouse heater on tick-over.  I hven't got the hang of using the green house yet!

No heat for rose cuttings Jean, they are best just stuck in the outside ground, they will grow on again in the Spring.

  • I agree with Lyn, put them in a sheltered corner outside - they don't need any protection, in fact they do much better without it.  Even if it snows they'll be fine image

  • Thanks you both for the advice.  I'll pop them in the ground now.  image

just a thought: is it too late to take hardwood cuttings of roses? or have I missed the boat for this year?
