Over wintering a banana tree
I have inherited a large banana tree which now has 3 'trunks' and about 5 smaller trees growing from it. The trunks are 6ft high with leaf spans of a similar size. Last year I tightly packed the main trunks with straw and wrapped in horticultural fleece. All survived. This year I need to do the same but am wondering whether I could cut the crowns down to a more manageable size first.
