Unidentified plant with seeds at Holehird, Cumbria
While walking around Holehird Gardens on Sunday I came across these two humongous plants, with humongous seeds. Now, one of the many things I love about Holehird is that every plant is labeled and really clearly labeled, everything apart from these (as far as I could see). 
Does anyone have any idea what they are? They were in an area that was mainly planted with Primulas...
I'd love to know what they are, as they just look so exotic and alien.
*edited to add, the label that you can see says 'Primula poissonii' and I definitely don't think it's one of those.

I estimate it to have been between 7 and 8 feet tall (between 2 and 2.5 metres). Though that is a rough estimation...
It does look very similar to Cardiocrinum giganteum to me.
I'm with you Berghill, that's why I wanted to confirm the height. Saw some at Dunham Massey earlier in the year. Spectacular when in flower (every 14 years?).
By the way, Holehird is a great garden, lovely in the spring, but I ha heir driveway!
I've just google Cardiocrinum giganteum and it makes me wish I'd visited earlier in the year! Thank you both for your help.
14 years is stretching it a bit, they take about 7 years from seed and once they are established, the offsets will flower once the main bulb has finished, so giving a continuous display.
For me the ones at Dunham Massey were covered in Lily beetles and very badly damaged. Mind that was a couple of years ago, so they may have managed to keep the plants clean since then. Hope so.
