beetroot - What's wrong

Just cut into this beetroot for a BBQ tonight and thought - Not normal - seed was Boltardy and so far non of others are showing this. Is it a virus? Something else?

    I don't think there's anything wrong. It looks like a chioggia variety, maybe a rogue one got in the packet.

    You're welcome! According to my sister, they don't keep their pretty stripes when cooked, but still taste fine.
  • Wish I had one to cut.Sowed 3 times nothing.Same with carrots and spring onions. Never had this happen before. Few other allotment holders have had the same problem. Never mind, theres always next year.....

    My carrots and spring onions did not appear. Beetroot was from a second attempt at getting a crop - sowd them in modules first and seemed to have worked
