Lyn offline
Just thought I'd let you guys know that Lyn is incommunicado right now. The phone line is broken at the main exchange and can't be fixed until the 28th!?

Thanks for letting us know Fishy
I'd noticed she wasn't around and was a tad concerned, given recent events.
What a PITA - the 28th is a long while to wait for what is an essential service nowadays.
If you're in touch please pass on our best wishes and ((hugs)).
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Will do Dove. Yes its a long time, must be something major and like you say, the internet is alongside energy and water supply as regards necessity now. How on earth did we manage without it??
What a nuisance for her Fishy. Some phone lines in more rural areas are a bit dodgy. We had problems at last house as the exchange was 'damp' - whatever that means! Hopefully she'll be all joined up soon
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I had no connection for 3 weeks last year. It demonstrated how dependent I was; weather forecast, emails, recipes, plant info, the forum, the news, it goes on and on.
There's a nice little cafe with Wifi just next door to the GC.
The GC has Wifi as well now
In the sticks near Peterborough
Thanks Fishy I was starting to think the situation at home was even worse. Doubt Lyn can leave her parents to access free wi-fi.
As Dove says please pass on our best wishes.
I will KEF
Lyn lives right out in the sticks, I think she said the nearest neighbour is about a mile away or something.
No worries Pauline...the suggestion was a sensible one
Lyn says thank you for all your kind thoughts. She is hoping to be back online by Tuesday or Wednesday
Fishy, could you give Lyn my love and very best wishes. And tell her I hope all is ok. Hugs too xx
Mike,it used to be the same where we are, each year in bad weather conditions we would see the cables go down across the fields.at least now the phone lines are underground .still get problems buts it's a lot better even when we get cut off with the snow blocking the lane we can use the phones, can't they do similar for your daughter, you'd think so this day and age.
Hope things are alright with Lyn, it's worrying when you know h e r situation . Will be pleased to see her back.
