Please help me identify

Hi,

So I've done a small amount of gardening before but I've only just bought a house with my own garden. My bf isn't interested so that means I get to make it exactly how I want it.

Firstly though, I need some help identifying some plants that are already in the garden. I really appreciate any help that you can give me image

Thanks

Hello Katie. The first one is an aquilegia seedling. Not sure about the others though.image

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

The last one is Hypericum androsaemum (common name, tutsan).

  • Fantastic, thank you pansyface image I'll leave that one alone. Looks like it should be quite pretty.

Thank you WillDB, I think I might just keep one plant. Use the space for some other plants. Perhaps a japanese maple.

  • Does that mean that the berries could be dangerous for children if they eat them?

  • I'd keep the 2nd/3rd one (same shrub?) until it flowers as it might be something nice but it's a bit difficult to ID at the moment.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Yes, the second and third picture are of the same shrub, its a bit bare at the moment, I'm not sure what it'll end up being. But I'm happy to leave it and see what happens in spring.

The Hypericum androsaemum will be going though I think, I don't want to have any poisonous plants in the garden really, not with the possibility of children coming to stay in the future.

Thanks everyone image If anyone has any ideas what the second plant could be that would be amazing.
