Can I move these without doing the dastidly deed happening

I am trying to revamp my front garden. I have these two bushes that have been there for several years. But I need them to be in other places as I want to save them.

Can I move them ? and how do I go about it?

The bigger they are the trickier it is - and the less successful a move is. Dig the new holes first, take as much of a rootball as possible with the plants , plop in hole and fill in, firming as necessary. Give a good water and keep watered for the next month or two if it is dry. Keep well watered in the spring as well if the plants are large.

  • The Camellia has been in-situ for about five years. It stands about 4ft tall and is about 2ft 6ins round. It stands in my lawn ( that I am about to remove ). The position is in full sun most of the day. The Hibiscus the same. In truth the hibiscus does not flower that well. It seems to thrive on the side away from the sun. However I really don't want to lose it. I want to move them to other positions within the same area, to make my re-vamp the way I want it .image
