Advice needed: what evergreen/colour all year round shrubs?

Hi

I have a patio area of my garden and a walled garden  patch where I want to plant evergreen shrubs and all year round colourful plants, shrubs, bushes etc.  

i want to plant some in pots (mostly sun/light spot) and then the walled garden patch is mostly in the shade.

I would love some recommendations of what I can plant now in September that will look green and tidy all winter long and year round?

For now, Eleagnus ebbingei. The scent is amazing. That will do sun or shade.
