Flagpole Cherry

I planted a flagpole cherry tree last year.  It looked fine and flowered beautifully this spring. However, it is now looking very sorry for itself.  The leaves are drooping and gradually turning brown.  Do you think it is waterlogged or not getting enough?  Have tried giving it more water but the leaves are not picking up.

  • lougarden,

You will know from your soil type whether it's likely to be waterlogged or dry. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it - cherries often look a bit scratty at this time of year.

  • Oh that`s reassuring - I would be upset if I lost it as it has sentimental value.  Thanks for your response.
