Plants for garden wall needed

Lucy3Lucy3 Posts: 92

Hi

I have an old stone garden wall that when we moved in had lots of flowers growing in and over it - it looked lovely. These have all but disappeared over the years and wondered if there was anything I could replace them with, hopefully evergreen so there was something there year round but thats not essential. the wall is only 2-3 foot in height and is about 6 foot long and is on both sides of the garden driveway. Thank you image

Is it a dry stone wall?

If you want something to grow in the side of the wall, I have seen corydalis and Erigeron look very good.

Hi figrat, sorry for the delay, yes it is a dry stone wall with lots of litttle cracks and crevices. We normally have seen toads in there at times getting out of the sun.

Anything you can reccommend that will thrive here would be great - thankyou image

Thankyou penninepetal i'll certainly have a look at these image

Erigeron's very pretty indeed, sedums might also be worth a look. And it might sound silly, but wallflowers are another option. If it's in a sunny site, then aubretia can look stunning. But I wonder why the initial plants died out? Maybe you need to replenish the soil pockets.
