  • Sorry Jennifer I can't blow up the pics to get a closer look, I get a blank page instead. I'm also having trouble loading pictures however so I don't know if this is a GW problem right now or not.

  • Still getting to grips with the photos

the stem has got a reddish tint lower down.   I think it's going to have to go, but I wondered what it was.

Just wondered if it was a dahlia ,going off the yellow which looks like a bud coming through. If so it would have a tuber in the ground.

No, after enlarging the photo the leaves look kinda rough to the touch .can you leave it to close and post in another photo .

I'm intrigued now as to what it is.

  • here goes.   I don't think it's a dahlia.

  • As long as it's not giant hogweed or something like that!!  It's good practice with the photos anyway.   It's a bit of a surprise when they turn up on the message as they're only a box before I post.

I have to go out for an hour or so, so will check back later.

Probably the heliopsis suggested by Edd or something very similar. Expect yellow daisy flowers

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • On the top pic of the last batch the buds are coming through yellow.  I'll leave it, and see what it turns into and let you know.

  • Edd I think you may be right, it's looking like a small sunflower, will try photo later, yellow daisy flowers as nutcutlet said. "Expect yellow daisy flowers"

Is it a false sunflower?   It's about 3 ft high the purple flowers are the top of the erysymum.  It's grown in the middle of the erysymum.   Very nice.  I might move it to another part of the garden, is this possible?
