Is it OK to use Coniferous bonfire ash on the Vegetable garden?
...because wood ash is alkaline - if you boil it up with fat you can make soap. Apparently.
Sounds lovely Steve.
Are you going to make some?
let me thinkno
Thanks all, but I don't think I will be making soap???
Nor me Graham
Indeed but it won't contain a great deal of potash. There's more of that in the young shoots. Or there was.
If I spread some fat with the ash on the vegetable patch perhaps next year the carrots will come up ready washed?
