another ID please!

seen in a friend's garden - I really like it, and want one (so need to know when to take cuttings etc image ). They have two - one's abougt 3ft high, and the other is rather overgrown/leggy at about 7ft high.

    Leycesteria formosa, himalayan honeysuckle. I've never tried cuttings but it self seeds well. If you look around your friends garden you might be lucky enough to find some babiesimage

    Leycesteria is easy to grow from seed, or you can take softwood cuttings in early summer.  Quite cheap from the garden centre too...

    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
