I know this is Not Phytolacca Americana but what is it ? Please anyone.

     Hi Lily,.When I first saw this I thought it was Pokeroot or Phytolacca Americana but there is some difference. I hope some body knows what it is.

    It's a phytolacca, maybe not americana, hard to tell from the picture and I don't know the other species well enough. There are 2 distinct plants around that come labelled P.a. The differences are in the leaves, one has pale, almost white, veining.

    It could be P. esculenta which is the other one most commonly met with in Britain.

    Yes Lily your right it is image, and it does image, and I'm still not sure that Phytolacca is right, But Berghill You may be right I'll have to look at the Black berries.

    That is definitely a Phytolacca and it is the spitting image of the one I have which came as esculenta.

    I agree, no doubt at all it's a phytolacca.

    Why do you think it isn't Maharg?
