My Furry Friend

Say hello to my furry friend I found in the GH on a fallen tomato, he doesn't seem to have eaten any of it........he is lovely and fluffy, anyone know what type of caterpillar he is?

  • I don't know but can I take a stab at white ermine?

    Maybe a peacock butterfly?

White Ermine I think is right, he had the line down his back just like the google pic, peacock caterpillars look a little 'prickly', this one was just so fluffy, I was really surprised image

  • A handsome moth too if it is that oneimage

It is and I just looked at the moth, I've seen a few of those about, probably the ones that have eaten all my broccoli and sprouts but as they are so cute I'll let them off......this year image

Isnt it amazing how a little black caterpillar grows into a white/cream moth image I love nature image

  • It is amazing and sometimes a really fancy caterpillar turns into a rather nondescript moth- cool thoughimage
