Help to find a plant

I have a drop into my garden from a hard standing of .5m deep by 2.5m long, a wooden picket fence has been their for the past 20+ years and is now beyond repair. I was thinking of planting something evergreen that l could train along horizontal poles, must be very narrow, slowish growing and wildlife friendly, sun morning and evening in a dry, light neutral soil, open to the elements so must be 'hardy' and no more than about 2m tall. Can anyone help?

honeysuckle most are deciduous but some are evergreen
cotoneaster horizontalis, you must train it and keep it under control but bees love the flowers and birds love the berries its very hardy, doesn't mind being cut back hard and you can grow other climbers through it
Thank you for your replies, I have several honeysuckle in my hedge, they tend to grow too wide and leggie, l was looking at a cotoneaster horizontails in my local garden centre as l already have a weeping cotoneaster but the garden adviser said 'they are for growing low and not up a fence or wall.
You can tie them in as the previous poster said, they can look very good trained in that way - a neighbour down the road has one trained about 20 foot up the wall, very well pruned, and a solid mass of flowers then berries every year, looks stunning.
