in Talkback
There are at least 20 ash trees round my fields but none have got seeds or 'keys' on this year. the trees look healthy and no sign of die back but seems strange there are no seeds.

We've been keeping an eye on ours - they haven't flowered or produced seeds this year either - but last year they produced far more than usual - I think last year was a Mast Year http://www.forestry.gov.uk/newsrele.nsf/04cecdf37862621480256a0f00513443/ca9c50439be651a980257bd000474590!OpenDocument

We didn't have any sloes last year but lots this year.
Maybe they just fruit three years in five - sloe, sloe, quick, quick sloe.....

I'd be grateful for a year off weeding out the seedlings.
Mine don't flower every year but I haven't kept records.
