Peppers

What causing holes in my sweet peppers there isn't any signs of bugs or grubs they are about the size of a small nail head in diameter.

    There's something called the pepper maggot.  An egg is injected by a fly and the maggot eats its way out.  However, I don't know whether this pest from the US has arrived over here yet (with our lax plant import controls, it wouldn't surprise me at all though!)

    Thanks Bob I have grown these long peppers from  seed I have saved from the peppers I have bought from the veg market here in Lincoln they have grown very well with plenty of flowers on them and  the peppers are forming very well now, so I am keeping my fingers  crossed.
