over wintering a Tree fuchsia Pattie Sue

I bought a small tree fuchsia called Pattie Sue this year and has grown lovely. It is a shame to let it die over the winter and so I wonder if I can keep it alive for it to flourish next year.

I don't have a green house but I have a conservatory. The conservatory does have a radiator in it but sadly with the cost of heating might not be used a lot.

The fuchsia is in a medium size pot about 12 inches accross.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

    Cold conservatory is ideal-bring it in -ease of the watering-it will drop its leaves or you can remove them -just don't leave the leaves on the pot surface to rot-it will tick over for the next four months or so then you can start watering again gradually to start it back into growth.

    You can also trim it back now as well.

    Thanks Sotongeoff. So no watering till Fed even if it is very dry?

    When you say Trim how far shouls I trim?

    When i bought the plant it was just one long stem with a few short shoots from the side.

    Cut it back by about half-let it dry our but not dust dry-then just a dribble of water occasionally-all you are trying to do is let it have a rest over the winter and just keep it ticking over-you don't want it sitting in damp cold compost when it is not actively growing
