Herbs from Seeds

Hey 

 

When is the best time to grow herbs from seeds?

Sorry think I should be more specific. The herbs I plan on growing are, Coriander, Dil, Basil, Parsley, Mint,

    Parsley is biennial so now sounds good. Mint is perennial and can be sown more or less any time. The others are annuals, sown now you'll get some leaves but probably not seeds from dill and coriander.

    Basil and coriander can be sown pretty much all year round, as long as you can keep them warm once established.
  • Are there instructions on the packets?  I'd follow those as a guide, however I appreciate that not all packeting has such information.  I planted Purple Basil from seed a few months ago and the packet gave no recommendation of month to sow, but it was sold as an indoor window ledge kit so I guess if they're being started off indoors then it probably might not matter.
