Slug and Snail slime

ninnin Posts: 186

I have come to the conclusion that the only way that is working to get rid of my infestation is to stalk the nasty slime ridden monsters and kill them off.

I have been picking whole handful's of individual lettuces, its vial but the most vial thing is coming indoors and having to wash off the slime.

I use salt and washing up liquid followed by a sponge scourer. Has anybody got a better way to dissolve and wash off the slime?

A handful of dog biscuits and a dog are pretty efficient.image

Swarfega is a dream! You get it at most DIY stores (and Halfords) for cleaning the hands of people who do dirty jobs (mainly mechanics, engineering, fabrication...) Its a heavy duty hand cleaner with gritty beads in that help remove the dirt.

We buy it in bulk here! It even cleans bouncy castles that no other detergent could even touch the dirt!

Now i know what it is, its mechanics gritty hand cleany stuff at least thats what i have always called it.

Anything greasy i always tell the kids sugar and soap will do it , it makes mechanics gritty hand cleany stuff. oh I sound dumb today !!!!

We use the orange stuff KEF as its more delicate. The green stuff is still around though and much better to use if you need to involve washing in the shower with it!

  • Any gritty hand cleaner suggested, sugar and oil is good.

BUT NOT THE DOG BISCUIT METHOD, you risk having your pet infected with Lungworm!
