My gooseberry bush for the 2nd year running, bares fruit but before they are
of size they go a speckled brown colour as if singed and then looks like a powdery white effect on them.
Does anyone know what this is and how i can stop this happening please?

Ae the leaves completely normal or do they look a bit odd too? I would guess that it is mildew.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
Google 'gooseberry mildew images' and see if the pictures look like your gooseberries.
If so, the information is here http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=739

will do thank you all
yes its mildew... will get pruning thank you again
some of my gooseberries are an opaque brownish orange colour, whilst others on the same bush are normal. The bushes themselves appear healthy. What's wrong?
