Little holes and sucked out tiny bumps and hole areas on this young hydrangea have puzzled me for years, but all the while it is growing really well with more and more blooms each year. Saw this yesterday and wondering what it is and suspecting this is the culprit.

I found one of them on my lupins the other day- I umm'd and arr'd over keeping it incase it was something important but it the end I put it with the composting scraps as it was stuck on a leaf I'd cut off.
I've never seen one before but I'll have a flick through my insect book and see if I can find it...
I give up
Anyone know this one?
