cutting poppy down.

Now its finished flowering can i cut it back to ground level, or best left.

    Hi Don Just to add to Chrissies great advice. If it is an annual and you'd like it there next year I'd leave it in to allow the seeds to ripen and self seed. Then there should be lots more lovely poppies in the same area next year.

    Thanks, yes it is a perennial poppy, in the past I've just left the stalks there as i liked the look of them.  I have just cut them back now.
