Non climbing beans

I bought a packet of Thompson & Morgan climbing beans 'Fasoid' but they are just growing straight up and not climbing up the cane obelisk I made. I've tried tying them to the sticks but they just grow up and don't curl round it like my runners are doing. All  10 plants are doing the same. Is it something to do with this variety? The plants are now 12-15inches tall and no sign of a twirl yet!
