Rambling Rose Question
I have a rambling rose (Paul's Himalayan Musk) which has an abundance of flower heads ready to explode. Whilst examing them just now in amongst the ramble I noticed that some of the stems had 7 leaflets which I always thought made them suckers, However as I was about to start removing them I also noticed that some of the stems with 7 leaflets have flower buds. I thought that suckers would not flower - does anyone know if different rules apply to rambling roses?
The other oddity is that I noticed one stem that seemed to have 7 AND 5 leaflets on it with a flowerhead bunch after a 5 leaflet? Is this strange or the norm? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Aaaaargh! No don't remove them!!! The 5 leaf thing is sort of right for hybrid teas but not for other roses - have a look at this on David Austin's FAQs - you'll have to scroll down to the fifth question http://www.davidaustinroses.com/english/Advanced.asp?PageId=1927
So glad I checked - Thank you much appreciated!
