Grapes.

Hi All,

I picked up a nice grape the other day and it is laden with fruit. They are very small at the moment and it is in a pot.

Would it be OK to plant it now while there is fruit on it or should I wait and leave it in the pot until the fruiting has finished? It is in my greenhouse at the moment.

Thanks

James

Hi James..I'm interested in the answers. Sorry can't help you there.

Can you tell me what type is it. I'm interested in growing an outdoor one too.

  • Off the top of my head I cant remember but I will post it when I get home from work.

I'm interested in the answer too, I've got one waiting to go up the allotment. The name tag is at the allotment whereas the plant is still at home image

im pretty sure it begins either with B or M but knowing me, it probably something completely different lol.

It's red grapes and it's a French name, I got it in b&q a couple of weeks ago

Ive got two grape vines growing in my front garden (very neglected!) As far as i can tell they are rampant buggers! If you plant wit minimum disturbance and water well, surely it should be ok shouldnt it? I would worry about watering issuses when its in a pot, arent the grapes likely to suffer from too much and too litte water? Please post the outcome, would love to know what happens!

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
