I cleared off a garage roof of years of rotted down greenery. I collected it all up because it looks like good compost, when tipping the bugs out i have come across a lot of these grubs.

That looks like a rose chafer larva - look here http://maria.fremlin.de/stagbeetles/larva-guide/
Put them in a compost heap or pile of rotting leaves - they'll help the earthworms to break it down.
