Basil leaf damage

After having torrential rain for the last few days the basil in my windo box has developed some brown spots on the leaves and they are starting to fall, could this be caused by over watering?

Yes there is good drainage.

    I have noticed in the past when growing basil, it does have a habit of going black and dying when grown outdoors. I only grow it in the greenhouse or on a hot sunny windowsill now - with better success !!

    To sum it up - it just doesn't like the cold, nor being rained upon.

    I moved them inside and they picked up realy well. Wont make that mistake again this year..
