Can I take cuttings now, from a well established plant? & where do I cut, below a leaf joint? Will I slip it into a glass of water til it roots, or plant direct into pot? And what soil, will Innes Seed compost be ok?
Hi, depends what the plant is? Any idea?
Tom,if you go to RHS Cuttings on the net you will get all the info for different types of cuttings, and how, and times to do them explained very simply
Oh, felt sure I had headed my enquiry, sori.
You did Tads.
But it only appears if you hover your cursor over the thread title. One of the oddities of the site.
I'd use something dryish and gritty for salvias. It's one of the few things I've had success with. I think I did them a little later in he summer when some wood had matured a bit. I did heel cuttings. But I'm sure someone who knows more than me will put you right
thanx, perfect !
Oh, thanx Berkley - 'kay, that's good, thankyou
