Malus tschonovskii
in Talkback
I planted this Malus 2 years ago and it has always been healthy; however I have yet to have any crab apples.
However this year, the leaves have turned dry and brown and are now falling prematurely at a rapid pace, so it is just a matter of time until the branches are completely bare, so no autumn colour this year.
Any advice as to why this could have happened. I look after my trees, they are watered thoroughly once a week and are always fed and given an organic mulch several times during the growing season.

Too wet? Overfed? This Crab apple only seems to produce fruit every other year for us.
