Catapillars

Hi there, I'm having major problems with catapillars on my brascas eating them completely before they can get going, even with a thin mesh netting over the top and squashing eggs... What can I do? And will they eventually give up?!

Thanks

  • I heard Monty advise that you can plant nasturtiums nearby that naturally attract caterpillers and then you can contain them there and deal with them - just a thought!

The frost will do for them.  Bit late now to plant nasturtiums. Just keep squashing the caterpillars.

  • not sure if the nasturtiums work so well have had them in my brassica cage for a couple of years they seem to help with black fly but my savoy and broccoli are still affected lets hope for some good frosts image
