Strawberry Plants

NoozeNooze Posts: 24

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and am looking for a bit of advice.  We've bought a strawberry plant today just to try.  Having never grown them before, what is the best way to grow it?  We don't have a greenhouse at the moment (its on the shopping list though).  Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

Don't need a greenhouse Nooze  -they're hardy. Find a nice sunny spot with decent, well drained soil, pop it in with a bit of general feed, water it in and watch it grow. They do very well in pots too and it helps keep the fruits clean and off the ground, away from slugs and snails. If you have room, try a large pot with about three plants, and in the autumn they'll produce little runners which you can pot up and make new plants with  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Thanks, was thinking about putting them in a hanging basket to keep the slugs and snails at bay - and our 5 year old son once the strawbs ripen!
