What is eating my bean plants?
in Talkback
Within six and a half hours of planting out my 6inch French bean plants I popped back outside only to see that something has nipped off the tops of at least two thirds of them, leaving just the stalks. Some of the leaves are left lying on the soil but many are just gone. Not rabbits as no footprints in my raised bed. Birds? I don't think it's slugs as I would expect them to nibble from the bottom. I'm gutted!

If you have any in your area, my money would be on woodpigeons, the fat greedy b^663rs!
Maybe my keyboard went wrong.. maybe not!

I've lost whole rows of young veg plants within minutes - I love nature and put up with some losses rather than using chemicals, but woodpigeons..
Yes we are rural and lots of bl..dy pigeons! Thanks!
