One thing I've never understood about Chelsea. With all the incredible hard landscaping to create the show gardens, how on earth do they replace soil and turf to 'leave it as they found it'? Does it take long for the grassy areas to recover?

I've just googled behind the scenes at chelsea and it appears that they cover the grass first with a covering of some sort. Then they pour compost onto it, plant and build.

Thanks for that. I'd love to have watched the construction taking place. How fascinating.
