Fairy ring and fruit and veg?

Hi, I'm digging up a large portion of my lawn to make a veg patch and herb garden.  I'm also planning to grow some fruit (pears, gooseberries and a grapevine).  Part of the lawn had fairy rings and the soil beneath the turf is very dry and full of mycelium - could this cause a problem with fruit and veg and if so what can I do to alleviate the problems?
