Any fans of Dill on the forums? I had some Dill seed come in a 'bee and butterfly' attractor seed pack.I had no idea what it was until it grew and then saw a photo online. I've got lots of little self seeded Dills coming up now image

We've usually got lots of self-seeded dill on the herb patch, but it seems to have disappeared this spring.  I'll have to start some more off - nothing better with a potato salad, and we love home-made gravadlax too image

I love Dill and always try to grow some. image I put some in the cavity of fish before cooking in the oven wrapped in foil. Or lemon and dill sauce with truite bleu.image (a large saucepan of simmering water, some vinegar and trout that has been cleaned and wiped, but not washed; just a few minutes simmering then serve with dill and lemon sauce)

I put some dill seeds in for the first time about two months ago. They took a while to germinate but look really healthy. Can't wait to chomp on it!

Dill is particularly loved by the caterpillars of the Swallow Tail Butterfly. Well worth planting some in odd spots around the garden.

I have always had a herb garden, never thought of planting Dill. Is it to late to sow now?

If you get some seeds pretty sharpish Bal I don't see why not. I've got it coming up here, there and everywhere in my tubs right now.

Swiss Sue that's brilliant. Sadly the Swallowtail is extremely rare in the UK and confined to the Norfolk Broads. Its one butterfly I've never seen.
