RHS Malvern Spring Festival
We've been going to the Malvern Spring Show as it was known almost since it started and we normally arrive as the gates open at 9am and expect to leave about 3pm. That has been our normal pattern.
This year we arrived at the normal time and left before mid-day! There seemed to be huge expanses of empty space and the 'sheds' were literally half empty. The repositioned Floral Marquee also seems to have far fewer stands than in previous years. I only hope that it's just one poor year, and not evidence that the RHS wants to change the style and focus of the show. It's worked for years, got bigger year on year, so please - It ain't broke, so don't try to fix it.

..that's disappointing...it looked quite nice on Gardener's World... I especially liked a couple of the show gardens...
our friends " Staddon Farm Nursery" got a silver gilt medal there. I'll catch up with them next week and speak to them about it.
Some of the show gardens were really good. Very obviously, some of them pushed boundaries I would rather were left where they are
Some I liked my missus didn't and vice versa. That is what's great about gardening.
I was talking to one designer who said some exhibitors / vendors had packed up and gone home before Sunday (when we were there). The weather on Thursday was apparently very wet and then there were very high winds too.
I don't think those departures explain the issues I highlighted above.
I've just this minute got home from the show and had a fab time, although would have liked more plant stalls outside. Got some amazing bargains after 4 pm!
