Yeah I agree, your eye gets very bored with it very quickly. A friend of mine in London did it. It was a very nice garden but I wanted to throw a packet of poppy seeds over it every time I went.
Hi louise, astrantia self seed in my garden, I do nothing to encourage them but they seem to just get on with it, they are quite slow to get to a good size plant.
I think they self sow more readily than when I collect seed and try to cultivate them myself. Lots easier too, and I get enough newbies each year for my needs and some to give away.

Nut, I have a white border, but I now put in a splash of purple or blue which definitely adds something.
