Maybe wild garlic? Do the leaves smell garlicky?
Camassia?

Don't think that it is wild garlic (Ramsons) as they have the flowers at the top of the stem not opening in a spike as this one seems to do. I know I know it but I just can't recall it yet.
Kate1123 - sorry forgot to thankyou for your advice but I still couldn't upload with a jpeg,
Any ideas on this one - is it worth preserving? thanks, Janet
