My carrots germinated a few weeks ago. When the leaves got to an inch tall they disappeared! I checked the bed there were growing in one day and everyting was fine. When i went to check the next day they were all gone. I`m growing parsnips and beetroots in the same bed but they were not touched. They are all growing under cover also and i cant seem to find out why.

Could be but i didnt see any traces of slug trail which you can normally see.

Unfortunately, slugs and snails don't always leave slime trails.

I'm afraid slugs would be my first guess too. It's not too late to sow again 'tho. You could try putting something like crushed egg shells or coffee grounds around, maybe some beer traps or something to deter them.

    Almost certainly slugs.

Best thing is to cover the seeds with fleece,  making certain the slugs can't get underneath the fleece !

    Works every time !
