red robin bush

Hi i wonder if anyone can give me some advice. My sister  has given me a beautiful red robin bush ,as she is moving house and asked me if i wanted it.i have planted it in my front garden ,i mixed plenty of compost with the soil as it has a bit of clay in it,watered it in well, but after a couple of hours it seems to have gone a bit limp with drooping you think it will pick up or don,t these bushes like to be moved any advice would be  gratefully received.

It's not the right time of year to move a shrub, but if you have to, you should try to move as much of the root ball as possible. Afterwards, prune it back quite hard to lessen the stress of moving and water it every day! It should recover in time image

@elizabeth.. as winter song has said.. prune it back so it can concentrate on root growth rather than keeping foliage alive.. and keep watering it.. it should do ok.image

  • thank you for advice, much appreciated, will prune it back and hope for the best.image
