red currant aphids

I have a redcurrant bush that is about 3 years old. Last year we harvested several pounds from it. Last year I noticed what I thought was greenfly under the new leaves, the leaves shrivelled and the greenfly I squashed, amidst the ants who also every where.  I have looked today and have seen the same aphids I have looked in a couple of books and websites and they say they are blister aphids but that they are yellow .. mine are defo green. What can I do to get rid of them other than squashing them.... any companion plants to reduce them?

I use washing up liquid water in a squirty bottle on my currants it works a treat
