Red Lime - What do you think?
in Fruit & veg
Ordered some Citrus trees from Suttons Seeds and 2 were fine. The third was a red lime tree and this is the state of it upon receipt:

Having sent them photos they are still reluctant to admit that the state of the tree is unacceptable. They keep stating it will grow on fine but that is not the issue. Still not agreed to replace it with a more healthy specimen and although they are going to collect it if their "experts" agree nothing is wrong they are going to charge me for the collection.

Another pic next to the green line to show the stark contrast between the two trees:
I did wonder as no delivery note in the box, whereas the green lime to the right there did have one. Arrived with a dozen and half leaves fallen during transit, rest of them are curled and it is covered in some white powdery splash-back (Could have at least sprayed it down before shipping). Also compost was wet through and still is after a week in the conservatory (they are supposed to be dry) and covered in moss/grass.
Just not an acceptable state in my eyes irrespective of whether it may grown on eventually and survive.
I think if it was in a garden centre and the customer could look at it before purchase, there is no way they could sell it.
I think they should replace it.
If that was in a Nursery there's no why I would buy it, so I don't see why they should expect a customer to accept it.
After posting on their public Facebook page I got the customer service I should have received over a week ago. They are going to collect at no cost to me and replace with a suitable healthy replacement. Shame it took that escalation to resolve the issue after over a week of emails and telephone calls where they were being obstructive and extremely unhelpful at best (and totally ignoring their own guarantee published on their own website).
