Chicken stew and herby dumplings made with the leftover roast chicken from yesterday. Most of it's chopped up ready for the pot, when I get back from biggest little one's parents evening. Wine or not depends on how he's been behaving (although he's only 4, so hoping it won't be too bad)!
Big Blythburgh Free Range pork chops baked in the oven with some Marmande tomatoes that've been ripening on the windowsill, some runner beans out of the freezer and Estima jacket potatoes with a big lump of unsalted English butter a sprinkle of Maldon seasalt and a good grind of black pepper
“I am not lost, for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost.” Winnie the Pooh
Spaghetti Bolognese and fruit crumble and custard. I had a few plums, pears and apples so following Nigel Slaters theory that fruits that ripen together go well together I put them all in with some cinammon and sugar and it was delicious - even if I say so myself
Honey & mustard pork chops tonight. Mash, peas & gravy to go with it, waiting for pay day so using up everything in the freezer until I can pay the ASDA man to come around with a van full of stuff.
same here looking at the back of the freezer all i can see is some fish and veg and jacket potatoes dessert will have to be some fruit so roll on the end of the month
Tomato rissotto - homegrown cherry toms of various colours- with cheese grated in & wilted baby spinach- not home grown as the slugs got the lot! No idea about pudding..... J.
Corn beef hash, vedge tray nearly empty so it all went in the pan together, mashed them mixed with a tin of corn beef a mix of breadcrumbs cheese butter and herbs on top in a buttered dish, twenty minutes in the oven. Ice cream and fruit out of a tin. I have lazy days now and then.
