When to re-pot Dicentra (bleeding heart)
in Plants
Hi there.
I have a dicentra in a pot, which is currently in bloom. I read that they don't like their roots disturbed, but I'd like to re-pot mine as the compost it's in was very cheap and is really not very good (although it seems to be coping fine this year) and I think it could do with a slightly bigger pot. On the BBC site it says that if you want to divide the plant you should do so March-May. Mine doesn't need dividing, just re-potting. When would be the best time to do this?
Thanks, Kaitlin

Do it once it's finished flowering. I'm not sure that it's as fussy about root disturbance as they say - I once chopped mine up by accident, and it still cane back!
